Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, has submitted his statement pursuant to Article 342 in the criminal matter of Toshakhana before the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad.

Imran records statement in Toshakhana case: The court dismissed the defence attorneys’ plea for additional time to deliver the list of witnesses and continued the hearing until 9:30 am tomorrow.

Khan opted to offer evidence in his defence and signed the statement he gave to the court.

Imran responded in the affirmative when the court asked if he was happy with his replies.

Khan provided a statement in response to 35 inquiries from the court.

The Toshakhana case had been registered on political grounds, he informed judge Humayun Dilawar.

“Both prosecution witnesses were puppets of the government,” he claimed.

Khawaja Haris, an attorney, was asked by the judge if he had been up late. Then he repeated the following verse: “Teri subha keh rahi hai teri raat ka fasana.”

The PTI head informed the judge that this was the current state of affairs for all of them.

Then, Barrister Gohar asked for some time so he could introduce the witnesses.

The lawyer said, “The list has not yet been prepared, so we need time to prepare the list,” and requested two days to do so.

The attorney requested till August 3 to provide the witness list.

The time request was challenged by the solicitors for the election commission. There are two different types of witnesses, according to Amjad Pervaiz: public and private.

The attorney was instructed by Judge Humayun Dilawar to make sure to present the list of private witnesses tomorrow.

The case hearing was postponed by the court till tomorrow morning at 9:30am.

Imran Khan’s appeal against the high court decision to refuse a stay order in the Toshakhana case has been scheduled for hearing by the Supreme Court for tomorrow.

The hearing will be conducted tomorrow by a three-person bench under the direction of Justice Yahya Afridi.
