The women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur needs to face harsh punishment for her unprofessional actions during the third ODI against Bangladesh, according to Indian cricketing veteran Madan Lal.
Indian legend slams Harmanpreet: The 34-year-old had already caused controversy with her disagreement with the umpire on the pitch following her LBW dismissal in the tie-breaking game. During the post-game presentation, she launched into a rant against the umpiring.
She continued by making comments to Bangladeshi captain Nigar Sultana as they prepared to publish photos holding the trophy. The latter left the photo shoot as a result of her comments.
Madan Lal requested in a tweet that the right-handed batter face “disciplinary action” for her “pathetic behaviour” from the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI).
He wrote, “Harmanpreet’s actions against the Bangladesh women’s team was horrible. She is not greater than the competition. She gave Indian cricket a very poor reputation. BCCI needs to impose very stringent disciplinary measures.
The right-handed hitter attempted to sweep spinner Nahida Akter’s delivery in the 34th over, which set off the drama. The ball, however, struck her pad and fell into the first slip’s hands. LBW was handed to her.
Instead of acting with sportsmanship in response to the umpire’s ruling, the 34-year-old destroyed the stumps with her bat.
Harmanpreet Kaur launched into a diatribe against the umpire during the post-match presentation after the match ended in a thrilling tie. She listed “poor umpiring” as one of the factors that contributed to the team’s defeat.
“Cricket Captain Expresses Dissatisfaction with Umpiring in Recent Match Against Bangladesh”
She stated, “I think there was a lot of learning for us from the game.” “Even outside of the cricket, we were really astonished by the type of umpiring that was occurring. We’ll make sure this style of umpiring is present the next time we visit Bangladesh and we’ll be ready for it.
“They (Bangladesh) batted really well, batted appropriately,” the batter continued. The singles that were most important were being taken by them. While we were batting, we controlled the game quite effectively despite a few runs that we let in between. However, as I indicated earlier, some awful umpiring was displayed, and we are extremely dissatisfied by some of their judgements.
When the captains were about to pose for photos holding the trophy together, Harmanpreet Kaur continued to make a spectacle of herself. The Indian captain instructed Nigar Sultana to bring the umpires, meaning that they were there because of the officials, according to the cricketing website ESPNCricinfo.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s conduct had reached its limit, and Nigar Sultana left with her team to enter the dressing room. She was blunt in her criticism of the latter’s actions and used harsh language.
It’s entirely Kaur’s (her) problem, stated Nigar Sultana. “I’m not involved in it in any way. She could have behaved better as a player. I’m not sure what occurred, but being there with my team didn’t feel right.
“The environment was inappropriate. That is why we returned. Cricket is a sport that requires respect and discipline.
