After recovering from dengue fever, India’s Shubman Gill is “99 percent available to play” against Pakistan in the highly anticipated World Cup match, captain Rohit Sharma said on Friday.

Gill ready for Pakistan clash: “In Ahmedabad, at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Gill is expecte to play on Saturday, after missing the team’s first two victories.”

When asked about Gill’s participation, Rohit declined to divulge the team for the eagerly awaited match and responded, “We will see tomorrow.”

After arriving in the western Indian city from Chennai, where he had been unwell and missed India’s victory against Australia, Gill, 24, participated in a practise session on Thursday.

Prior to the competition, the batsman contracted dengue, and he was unable to go with the team to New Delhi for India’s victory over Afghanistan in the second match.

In both games, Ishan Kishan took Gill’s position and batted first, scoring 0 and 47.

Pakistan enters the match with two victories from two games at the 132,000-seat Narendra Modi Stadium, named after the Indian prime minister.
