Justice Irfan Saadat takes oath as SC judge

As part of a swearing-in ceremony, Justice Irfan Saadat Khan was sworn in as a judge of the Supreme Court.

Justice Irfan Saadat was sworn in by Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa.

At the swearing-in event were solicitors general, lawyers and Supreme Court judges.

The Sindh High Court’s acting Chief Justice was Justice Irfan.

With Justice Irfan Saadat’s promotion to the Supreme Court, there are now 16 justices on the highest court.

It should be mentioned that the Supreme Court should have 17 members, however there is now one vacancy.

On October 20, Justice Irfan Khan, the acting chief justice of the Sindh High Court, received unanimous nomination to the Supreme Court. This nomination was made by the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP).
