Amir injured: Due to a groin injury, pacer Mohammad Amir of Karachi Kings is most likely going to miss the match against Multan Sultans on February 22 in the current Pakistan Super League (PSL).

During Karachi’s encounter against Lahore Qalandars on Sunday, the fast bowler sustained an injury and was only able to deliver two overs.

Amir’s rehabilitation will go on in Karachi while the bowler is out of the game, according to reports.

The Kings are optimistic that Amir will be available for their encounter on February 26 against the Multan Sultans.

In as many PSL 8 games, Amir has taken four wickets at an economy rate of 7.64.

It should be remembered that on Sunday, Karachi defeated Lahore by a score of 67 runs to claim their first PSL 8 victory.

When given the opportunity to bat first, Kings set a challenging 186-run goal before dismissing Qalandars for 118 runs in 17.3 overs.

Imad Wasim, the captain, struck in his final over after Akif Javed grabbed two wickets to give Kings the upper hand over Qalandars.

Tahir Baig and Kamran Ghulam lead the run-chase after Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Amir handed the Kings two early victories.

Despite an injury to Mir Hamza, his replacement, the young bowler Akif, proved crucial in the match by taking two wickets in his third over, sending the two batters back to the pavilion and setting his team up for victory.

On March 19, the PSL 8 final and closing ceremony will take place in Lahore, which will also serve as the site of the playoffs.

In addition to receiving the Supernova Trophy, the victor will also receive a check for Rs120 million, while the losers will each receive a check for Rs48 million.

Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times.

They will play eleven games in Rawalpindi, nine games each in Karachi and Lahore, and five games in Multan.
