A new route of an electric bus service has begun, according to Sindh Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Memon.
New route of electric bus service announced: A new, 18-kilometer-long line of electric bus service will begin today, according to a tweet from Sharjeel Memon.
The electric buses, according to him, will go from Malir Cantt’s Check Post 5 to M A Jinnah Road through Safoora Chowrangi, Kamran Chowrangi, Millennium Shopping Mall, Dalmia, Aga Khan Hospital and Numaish.
As part of its Peoples Buss Service initiative, the Sindh government had introduced the second route of the electric buss service in Karachi in April.
The new route No. 2 of the EV bus service will travel through Baharia Town, M9 Toll Plaza, Baqai University, Jinnah Avenue, Malir Cantt, Tank Chowk, and Model Colony before arriving at Malir Halt. 13 electric buses were initially assigned to the new route.
It is important to note that the government started operating the first route of electric buss service in January of this year. The buses on Route 1 travel between Seaview and Karachi Airport.
However, To get to the clock tower at Seaview, the first route of the electric buss service travels from Tank Chowk near Jinnah Avenue through the airport, Sharea Faisal, FTC, Korangi Road, and Khayaban-i Ittehad.
