Karachi police unveiled the security and traffic control strategy for the Muharram processions.
Karachi police security plan for Muharram: A spokesperson for the Karachi police confirmed the deployment of 4,698 police officers for protection. The deployed personnel include 3,746 head constables/constables, 123 female police officers, 178 commandos from the Special Protection Unit, and members of the Rapid Response Force. In addition, he confirmed the deployment of 90 snipers on the sides and passages of the main procession.
According to the traffic plan, the procession would begin at Nishtar Park on the eighth of Muharram and end at the Hussainian Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
Additionally, On the ninth of Muharram, a procession is set to commence at nine in the morning, starting from Martin Road Imambargah in Liaqatabad, and culminate at Hussianian Iranian Imambargah. Further, The route will traverse through various streets and areas, drawing participants from the community to observe the occasion with solemnity and respect.
