ISLAMABAD: On Sunday, Pakistan and many other nations around the world will observe Kashmir Solidarity Day with ceremonies, protests, meetings, and processions.
The nation is observing a public holiday as the president, prime minister, military, and others have sent words of support.
On the Mangla bridge that between Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, a human chain was formed, and a minute of silence was observed when a siren sounded at 10 am.
Political and social organisations will also hold rallies in various places across the nation to draw attention to the Kashmir problem. Solidarity marches have been organised in the capital cities of Islamabad, Muzaffarabad, Gilgit, and four of the provinces.
Today in Muzaffarabad, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will speak at a special meeting of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
The prime minister stated in his message that Pakistan as a whole has come together to show unflinching solidarity and support with its Kashmiri brothers and sisters.
“I want to reassure our Kashmiri brothers and sisters that we stand shoulder to shoulder with them on behalf of the whole Pakistani nation. Until they are liberated from Indian oppression, we will continue to support their just cause on a moral, diplomatic, and political level, he declared.

“Pakistan Supports Kashmir’s Right to Self-Determination, Condemns Indian Occupation”
According to the prime minister, India is misguided if it thinks it can break the resolute will of the Kashmiri people. The Indian Occupation Forces’ state terrorism, the premier declared, “cannot break the will of the Kashmiris or undermine their legitimate resistance.”
“With their sacrifices, the people of Kashmir have kept the flame of independence blazing. Their aspirations will undoubtedly come true soon, he assured them.
The prime minister encouraged India to keep its promises to Pakistan, the UN, and, most importantly, the people of Kashmir.
Additionally, President Dr. Arif Alvi stressed that in his message, Pakistan has consistently maintained that a durable resolution to the Kashmir dispute is only feasible through the pertinent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) decisions and the desires of the Kashmiri people.
The president stated, “Pakistan also asks the international community and organisations to take concrete actions to hold India accountable for its flagrant and pervasive human rights violations in IIOJK.
Additionally, the President emphasized that the final resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute would be determined by the will of the people, expressed through the democratic process of a free and impartial plebiscite held under the auspices of the United Nations. He stressed that the observation of Kashmir Solidarity Day serves to bring attention to the relevant UN Security Council resolutions. “We observe this day to draw the attention of the international community towards these resolutions,” he added.
The Chairman of the Joint Heads of Staff Committee (CJCSC), services chiefs, and soldiers were represented by the spokesperson for the Pakistani Armed Forces, Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, who paid honour to the Kashmiri resistance.
He said in a tweet that no amount of horrors could quell the Kashmiri people’s desire for freedom.

Today is Kashmir Solidarity Day, which is celebrated with a renewed commitment to assist Kashmiris in their just struggle for their unalienable right to self-determination as guaranteed by the pertinent UN resolutions.
The day will also be observed to draw attention to the persecution that Indian occupation forces are doing against Kashmiris in IIOJK.
Every year, Pakistan celebrates Kashmir Solidarity Day in order to renew its love and affection for the people of IIOJK as well as its commitment to the liberation of the occupied valley from Indian rule.
