Kremlin dismisses US lectures on Saudi Arabia’s oil policy

US can’t tell Saudi on oil policy: In response to reports of disagreements between Washington and Riyadh following the kingdom’s most recent output cut, the Kremlin stated on Friday that Saudi Arabia did not need lessons from the United States about oil policy.

On top of the already-existing output reductions by OPEC and its allies, including Russia, Saudi Arabia promised on Sunday to reduce its oil output by 1 million barrels per day (bpd), or 10%, in July.

Saudi Arabia, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, is a sovereign nation that is capable of making its own decisions and does not require “lectures or moralising” from the United States.
