LHC gives Imran a ‘last chance to appear by 5 pm: Imran Khan was given a second chance by the Lahore High Court on Monday to appear in front of the court after he failed to do so at 2:00 p.m.
To obtain protective bail in the event of a protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office, the former prime minister petitioned the court.
According to reports, the former prime minister will appear in court today at 2 p.m. The hearing was postponed until Monday by Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh of the LHC.
Today’s court session began with a question on Imran Khan’s whereabouts. His attorney stated he was his route and would arrive in a short while.
The PTI leader didn’t show up, so Justice Sheikh decided to wait a little longer.
Imran Khan was then allowed to appear by 5 o’clock after the court once more adjourned.
A privilege only granted to judges, the LHC had earlier on Monday morning permitted the PTI chief’s vehicle access to the court grounds.
This morning, Khan’s attorneys submitted a request to the court, but it was initially denied. The court ultimately granted permission, nevertheless, citing Imran Khan’s health.
The LHC will hold a hearing to determine the former prime minister’s bail, and he must show up in person. He runs the risk of being detained in the case brought against him due to a protest outside the Pakistani Election Commission. His bail was revoked by an anti-terrorism court last week.
