The Lahore High Court (LHC) gave Rawalpindi police a week to find Awami Muslim League (AML) Chief Sheikh Rashid on Monday.

LHC gives police week recover Sheikh Rashid: The LHC’s Rawalpindi bench of Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan heard Rashid’s appeal against his arrest. On September 17, they took the former minister into custody at his home in a housing society in Rawalpindi.

“Men dressed in plain clothes” took Sheikh Rashid into custody at his home, as reported by Sardar Abdul Razzak Khan, Rashid’s attorney.

According to Sardar Abdul Razzak Khan, Rashid’s attorney, “men dressed in plain clothes” took Sheikh Rashid into custody at his home and relocated him to an “undisclosed location, which is in no way justified.”


Further, He asserted that they had detained Imran, a housekeeper, and Sheikh Shakir, Ahmed’s nephew.

Regional Police Officer Syed Khurram Ali and Rashid’s attorney both showed up before the court today. Judge Sadaqat requested affidavits on Rashid’s arrest from his attorneys during the hearing.

The LHC also instructed the RPO to retrieve the former minister in a week or face charges against all of the policemen involved.
