Misbah to lead high-profile Cricket Technical Committee: PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has established a prominent Cricket Technical Committee (CTC) led by former Pakistani captains Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez.

Misbah lead high-profile Committee PCB: The CTC will make recommendations on issues relating to cricket, such as plans for the development of umpires, referees, and curators, as well as general domestic structure, scheduling, playing conditions, appointment of national selection committees, appointment of national team coaches, central and domestic contracts, and playing conditions.

The CTC will have the authority to consult with extra cricket specialists and will frequently report to the chairman of the PCB Management Committee.

“I’m thrilled to have Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez join us in advancing cricket in our nation. These three previous captains are extremely knowledgeable about the game of cricket and are aware of its current requirements.

“Any cricketing nation’s domestic cricket infrastructure is its foundation. We must make it impenetrable and with a progressive framework. We will be able to give our cricketers the finest environment to grow in so that we can develop the best cricketers thanks to the presence of Misbah, Inzamam, and Hafeez, three of Pakistan’s most seasoned and distinguished cricketers who ascended through the domestic ranks.

“Choosing me as the chairman of this committee, which is made up of reputable people who have contribute to Pakistan cricket for decades, is an enormous honor,” he said.

This is a difficult task, but I have absolutely no doubt that we will be able to make a difference by making suggestions that enhance and improve the state of the game from the very bottom up thanks to the vast experience and knowledge this committee possesses.

The CTC has added Junaid Zia, the acting director of domestic cricket operations, as an ex-officio member, while Usman Tasleem serves as both the ex-officio and secretary.

With 26 victories in 56 games, Misbah-ul-Haq is Pakistan’s most successful Test captain. In August 2016, he guided Pakistan to the top rank in the ICC Test Rankings. The right-handed hitter participated in 75 Tests, 162 ODIs, and 39 T20 Internationals. In all three competitions, he amassed 5,222, 5,122, and 788 runs, respectively. He was a member of the Pakistani team that Younis Khan led to the 2009 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup victory.

In addition, Inzamam-ul-Haq, a member of the 1992 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup winning team, captained Pakistan several times between 2001 and 2007. In 378 games, he scored 11,739 ODI runs at an average of 39.52, the most of any Pakistani batsman. He also scored 10 centuries and 83 half-centuries. Additionally, In 120 games, he amassed 8,830 Test runs at an average of 49.60, including 25 centuries and 46 half-centuries. He only participated in one T20I match, which Pakistan won by five wickets in their debut game against England in Bristol in August 2006.

Mohammad Hafeez scored 3,652 runs and claimed 53 wickets in 55 Test matches, 6,614 and 139 in 218 ODIs, and 2,514 and 61 in 119 T20 Internationals. Furthermore, After Sanath Jayasuriya and Jacques Kallis, he holds the record for being the only third all-rounder in international cricket to score 1000+ runs and capture 30+ wickets in a calendar year.
