In the Paragon City case, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) found Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique innocent on Wednesday.

NAB declares Khawaja brothers’ innocent: “The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) received a reference from the NAB against the Khawaja brothers, stating that they had found no evidence of corruption against them.”

In its report to the court, NAB stated that the Aziz Bhatti Town, not the LDA, had approved the Paragon Housing Society. “The bureau not required to pursue the case further,” the bureau said.
“The accountability watchdog stated, ‘The case should be forward to the LDA, which must address the complaints as the regulator.'”

Judge Qamar uz Zaman instructed the LDA to address complaints in the Paragon Housing Society project, noting that only four affected individuals remained after plots were award to all others.

The mention

As per the NAB, a housing development called Air Avenue was initiated by Saad Rafique and other individuals, which was subsequently renamed to Paragon City (Pvt) Ltd.

However, The reference states that Saad Rafique, Salman Rafique, and Nadeem Zia held 93.2% of the Paragon Housing Society’s shares.

The former minister of railways received Rs 58 million in financial benefits from the community, whereas his brother received Rs 39 million.
