The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, a former federal minister and the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), to testify in the National Crime Agency (NCA) £190 million Scandal or Al-Qadir Trust Case.

NAB summons Sheikh Rasheed: The former interior minister will appear before the anti-corruption watchdog tomorrow (Tuesday), according to specifics.

Sheikh Rasheed’skipped’ the NAB hearing earlier on May 24 in order to look into the £190 million National Crime Agency issue.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested Sheikh Rasheed, a former member of Imran Khan’s cabinet, to appear before them as he was part of the cabinet that approved the decision to settle £190 million from the United Kingdom.

Case of Al-Qadir Trust

“The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is investigating Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others for allegedly acquiring hundreds of acres of land in the name of the Al Qadir University Trust, which they claim has cost the national exchequer 190 million pounds.”

The National Crime Agency (NCA) of Britain reportedly sent the government Rs50 billion (190 million pounds at the time), according to the charges against Khan and the other suspects.

On December 26, 2019, the former prime minister Imran Khan registered the Trust for Al-Qadir University Project.

However, The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) renamed the Al-Qadir Trust case to “National Crime Agency £190m Scandal.”
