Nation observes ‘Youm-e-Istehsal’ in solidarity with Kashmiris

Kashmiris and Pakistanis worldwide are observing Youm-e-Istehsal today, August 5, in protest of the illegal action carried out by the Narendra Modi-led Hindutva Indian government on that day in 2019.

Nation observes Youm-e-Istehsal: The Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, in conjunction with the provincial governments, have organised a number of events across the nation, including seminars, protest rallies, screenings of video documentaries, and photo exhibitions exposing Indian atrocities against Kashmiri citizens, in order to honour the Kashmiris and denounce India’s illegitimate occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

At 9:00 am, they held a moment of silence in honor of Kashmiris who lost their lives fighting for their freedom.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter’s leadership and advisor on Kashmir affairs Qamar Zaman Kaira spoke to the crowd during a stroll organised on Constitution Avenue in the federal capital of Islamabad.

“President and Prime Minister Vow Continued Support for Kashmiri People’s Rights on Youm-e-Istehsal”

President Dr. Arif Alvi has vowed in a statement that Pakistan will continue to speak up for its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, who have been making priceless sacrifices, and will provide all assistance necessary to ensure the complete realisation of their legal rights.

On Youm-e-Istehsal, observed annually on August 5, the president stated, “We firmly believe that achieving lasting peace and stability in South Asia is possible only through a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.”

He claimed that on August 5, 2019, India began its illegal and unilateral operations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), with the intention of disabling, denying the right to vote, and dispossessing the Kashmiri people in their own country.

Pakistan will continue to back the legitimate and noble cause of the Kashmiri people’s battle for independence, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

He state in a message for Youm-e-Istehsal, which will be observe on August 5, 2023, “Pakistan’s steadfast commitment and promise to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters is that we will echo their voices, at every forum, until the world takes action and urges India to end its egregious human rights violations and forcible occupation of IIOJK, undo all unilateral and illegal measures it has taken since August 5, 2019, and take necessary steps to carry out a peaceful resolution.”

“Yaum-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir Plans and IIOJK Updates Shared”

Qamar Zaman Kaira, the prime minister’s advisor on Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir affairs, briefed the leader on the planned events for Yaum-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir, which will be observed on August 5. The events include seminars and awareness drives, with a special emphasis on holding ceremonies at Pakistan’s diplomatic missions around the world.

Foreign Secretary Dr. Asad Majeed informed the diplomatic missions located in Islamabad on the most recent developments in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Friday, ahead of the “Youm-e-Istehsal” on August 5.

He emphasised the legal, security, and human rights aspects of the situation in IIOJK, according to the Foreign Office.

“National Assembly Informed on IIOJK, China Supports Peaceful Resolution”

On Friday, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi informed the National Assembly that Pakistan has consistently and vehemently brought up the situation of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) at all international forums.

In response to a query during Question Hour, he stated that the Kashmir dispute is a topic on which all of the nation’s political parties agree.

In advance of “Yaum-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir,” China underlined its unequivocal and consistent stance on the Kashmir problem on Friday. It advocated for a proper and peaceful resolution of the long-standing conflict in accordance with the UN Charter, UN Security Council resolutions, and bilateral agreements.

“China has a consistent and unambiguous view on the Kashmir problem. The Chinese Foreign Ministry issued the following statement in advance of the fourth anniversary of India’s unilateral and illegal act in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Furthermore, the spokesperson said, “This issue is a dispute left over from history between India and Pakistan, and we should resolve it in accordance with the UN Charter, relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and bilateral agreements in a proper and peaceful manner.”

Additionally, On Saturday, August 5, Khanewal residents will participate in a variety of events, including rallies and seminars, as part of the celebration of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir.
