Nawaz Sharif likely to land in Pakistan ‘mid-September’

Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is expected to return to Pakistan by the middle of September, Geo News said on Tuesday.

Nawaz Sharif likely to land in Pakistan: Nawaz will depart for Pakistan from London “after a month,” according to a Sharif family insider who spoke on the condition of anonymity. In the middle of September, the former prime minister will likely return to Pakistan.

“Two months ago, the Sharif family’s legal and political advisors recommended the immediate termination of the PML-N leader’s trip to Europe and the Middle East, which concluded last week with Nawaz’s arrival in London. However, certain PML-N members have persuaded Nawaz to schedule his return for mid-September.”

“Nawaz Sharif’s decision to return to Pakistan after ending nearly four years of exile is final and everything is in order,” the person who has been involved in the negotiations and preparations stated.

Shehbaz Sharif, a former prime minister, and Maryam, the senior vice president of the PML-N, have been in touch with Nawaz frequently over the ups and downs of his return to Pakistan.

The insider claimed that Shehbaz, the former PM of Pakistan who has since resigned, would arrive in London in less than a week to meet Nawaz.

Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asif, Javed Latif, Saad Rafique, Parvez Rasheed, Irfan Siddiqui, and several other notable PML-N members have plans to visit London within the next three weeks. Their purpose is to engage in discussions and organize activities related to Sharif’s return.

According to the source, Nawaz will receive a grand welcome from the PML-N after arriving in the UK in November 2019 for medical treatment and deciding to stay after the allotted court term has passed.

The PML-N aims to mobilise tens of thousands of supporters when the party supremo lands in Lahore, according to Hina Pervez Butt, the party’s top social media campaigner and a former provincial lawmaker who is currently living in London and has met Nawaz.

According to the source, the recent Supreme Court ruling on the Supreme Court (Review of Judgements and Orders) Act 2023 has no impact on Nawaz’s cases.

According to Geo News, the Sharif family’s attorneys have prepared a thorough defence of Nawaz in a number of instances, and the legal and judicial proceedings will begin as soon as the former prime minister arrives in Pakistan.

Shahbaz revealed to Geo News last week that his older brother will visit Pakistan in September. “The decision of the Supreme Court has no bearing on Nawaz Sharif’s return,”

Nawaz Sharif has finished the five-year period of disqualification, he added.

Additionally, Shehbaz stated that the maximum time for disqualification is five years under the current statute. This ruling will not prevent Nawaz Sharif from running again. Next month, Nawaz Sharif will return to Pakistan, where he will stand trial and oversee the election campaign.

On November 19, 2019, Nawaz arrived in London before becoming seriously unwell inside a prison. The family said that Imran Khan’s administration and those who support him attempted to poison Nawaz, which caused him to suffer. He had four months of care at the Harley Street Clinic and London Bridge Hospital.

Experts in Pakistan diagnosed the three-time prime minister with an immune system illness, and they recommended seeking treatment abroad due to his health not improving, despite receiving the best possible care in the nation.
