ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Pakistan and Russia reaffirmed their commitment to furthering bilateral cooperation in several fields, including the economy, commerce, finance, energy, and education.
Pakistan and Russia resolved cement ties: According to a news statement, the Speaker of the Russian Federation Council and the Chairman of the Pakistani Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, made the resolve during a high-level discussion.
On the Speaker of the Russian Federation Council’s invitation, the Chairman of the Senate is in Russia for four days.
The trip is part of festivities marking the 75th anniversary of the start of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Russia.
Both parties emphasized the value of parliamentary interactions during the meeting to advance bilateral ties between Pakistan and Russia.
The Chairman of the Senate briefed the Russian side on the security situation in the region, emphasized the Kashmir conflict, and demanded its resolution per the pertinent UNSC resolutions.
The two parties resolved to work together for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan and agreed to maintain their collaboration on regional and international problems.
However, Speaker Matvienko graciously accepted the invitation from Chairman Senate to travel to Pakistan.
