In a gunfight with terrorists in the Shakas neighbourhood of the district of Khyber, a Pakistan Army major chose martyrdom, according to a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
Pakistan Army major martyred in KP: The event allegedly occurred when security personnel conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the area during the nights of July 5 and 6 after learning of the presence of terrorists, according to the army’s media wing.
The statement read, “While establishment of blocking positions to cut the escape routes of terrorists was underway, Major Abdullah who was leading the operation from the front, spotted a party of terrorists.”
The Kohat native Major Shah, 33, lost his life during the severe exchange of fire that occurred when the forces intercepted them, according to the ISPR.
According to the military’s media wing, the forces detained three terrorists and their facilitators while conducting a sanitization operation to eliminate any other militants in the region.
The ISPR stated, “Our warriors’ sacrifices further enhance our determination as Pakistani security forces remain committed to eradicating the threat of terrorism.”
The development occurs shortly after a suicide strike in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the martyrdom of three Pakistan Army personnel and the injury of up to three civilians.
A vehicle-borne suicide bomber blew himself up in the general vicinity of Miran Shah in the North Waziristan District, according to the military’s media arm.
The incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals: 24-year-old Sepoy Jehangir Khan from Mardan, 41-year-old Naib Subedar Sahib Khan from Mianwali, and 40-year-old Naik Muhammad Ibrahim, also from Mianwali but hailing from Dera Ismail Khan.
