Pakistan dispatches aid to Gaza

Pakistan has dispatched aid to the Gaza Strip’s besieged residents as a chartered plane headed to Egypt with 100 tones of vital medical supplies, tents, and blankets.

Pakistan aid to Gaza: Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, a spokesperson for the Foreign Office, stated at a weekly news briefing that they would use the Rafah crossing in Egypt to deliver humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of Gaza.

Given that Israel was refusing to permit humanitarian aid for 2.3 million Palestinians, it was unclear whether the aid would reach the people of Gaza.

According to the spokesperson, Pakistan sent the aid due to the dire circumstances in the Gaza Strip.
Due to an unprecedented operation by Hamas in Southern Israel, Israel has been continuously bombing Gaza since October 7.

Over 500 people were killed when Israeli soldiers struck a hospital in Gaza on Tuesday.

However, Tel Aviv denied responsibility for the bombing, a claim that US President Joe Biden supported.

The OIC’s extraordinary meeting on Wednesday in Jeddah refuted Israeli claims and categorically attributed responsibility for the heinous attack on the Gaza hospital to Tel Aviv. The Israeli action was classified as a war crime by the OIC.

It questioned the double standards of the West, which permitted Israel to carry out the atrocity against Palestinians with impunity, and chastised the UN Security Council for failing to stop the bloodshed.

To address the changing circumstances, the OIC made the decision to call a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers.

“The official stated that Pakistan actively engaged in consultations with OIC member states to create this consensus and adopted the Joint Communiqué during the conference yesterday, capturing the unified position of the Muslim Ummah on the Gaza situation.”

Briefing of envoys on deportation strategy

The spokeswoman stated that the interior ministry personnel briefed diplomatic missions on Pakistan’s plans to deport all unauthorised foreigners.

“The briefing was on the illegal foreigners repatriation plan (IFRP),” she stated. “Acting Foreign Secretary Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi and Secretary Ministry of Interior Aftab Durrani gave this briefing.”

The spokesperson claimed to have informed foreign envoys that the government announced the IFRP on September 26 with the intention of repatriating all undocumented and illegal immigrants, including those who overstayed their visas, starting on November 1.

“Every state’s sovereignty includes the right to control the inflow and outflow of foreign nationals. The IFRP is a step in that direction, she said.

Similar regulations are in place in every nation to control the migration of foreign nationals. “She continued that Pakistan’s current regulations would handle the return of undocumented immigrants as a purely administrative and legal issue.”

The spokesperson claimed that this proposal did not apply to any of the foreign nationals who were staying and registered properly in Pakistan.

According to her, an intricate institutional system has been set up to address any incidents of harassment and mistreatment throughout the execution of the plan. She added that the government remained dedicated to a comprehensive implementation of the IFRP in a progressive and orderly manner.

The Ministry of Interior will form a high-level Coordination Committee to oversee the implementation of the IFRP, and it will also establish helplines at the federal and provincial levels to report any occurrences for prompt redress.

However, The interior secretary himself will serve as the chairman of this committee. Furthermore, This summarises the information that was provided to foreign ambassadors at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
