Pakistan foreign exchange reserves drop: The State Bank of Pakistan announced in a statement released here on Thursday that for the week ending on October 6, 2023, SBP’s reserves climbed by $ 31 million to $ 7,646.7 million.

It also said that commercial banks’ net foreign reserves were $5,383.4 million. The nation’s total liquid foreign reserves were US$ 13.0308 billion as of the previous week, which ended on September 28, 2023.

Among them, the central bank held $7.615 billion in foreign reserves, while commercial banks held $5.415 billion in net foreign reserves.

On September 29, Pakistan’s central bank held $7,636.7 million in reserves, bringing the country’s total liquid foreign reserves to US$13.18 billion.

A spokeswoman for the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) stated in a statement that due to loan repayments made during the week ended September 22, 2023, SBP’s reserves declined by $59 million to $7,636.7 million.

It also said that commercial banks’ net foreign reserves were $5,525.1 million. The nation has $13.186 billion in total liquid foreign reserves as of the previous week, which ended on September 15, 2023.

Among them, the central bank held $7.695 billion in foreign reserves, while commercial banks held $5.491 billion in net foreign reserves.
