ISLAMABAD: Dr. Nadeem Jan, the acting federal health minister, unveiled the National Health Card App on Wednesday in Islamabad with the goal of enabling people to plan their hospital appointments.

The minister highlighted a feature of the national health card app that will allow patients to provide comments on the services they got.
“We are attempting to innovate the health insurance programme. After consulting with the provinces, we are attempting to develop a universal health insurance programme,” Nadeem Jan stated.
According to him, the government also intends to include OPD services in the health insurance programme. “We will offer these services to the poorest of the poor at no cost, but we will require those who can afford them to make co-payments.”
He emphasized that the contribution would be minimal in size, underscoring its limited impact on the overall situation.
The minister added that Pakistan will hold a two-day summit on the global health security on December 1 in an effort to the coordinate worldwide responses to the pandemic.
