Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the interim prime minister, has said that he thinks good ties between Pakistan and the US may help South Asia advance and remain stable.

Pakistan ready to work with US: On the fringes of the 78th UNGA session in New York, he was giving a speech to the eminent US think tank Council on Foreign Relations.

However, the Prime Minister noted that long-lasting alliances take time to develop since they demand cooperation, understanding, and effort from both parties.

According to him, Pakistan is prepared to cooperate with the United States and all other allies who share our goal of a prosperous and peaceful world where collaboration wins over conflict.

He expressed confidence that the US would continue to support and interact with the region, which will be important from an economic, diplomatic, and people-to-people perspective.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar stated that the common values of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law have been the cornerstone of Pakistan and the United States’ long-lasting alliance and will remain so even after we have rekindled our ties.

With an impressive total of 8.4 billion dollars in exports last year, the United States is our top export market, according to the prime minister, who spoke about economic cooperation.

He claimed that in order to make Pakistan an appealing location for investment and innovation in important sectors including agriculture, mining and mineral production, information technology, energy, and defence industry, we have established a Special Investment Facilitation Council.

Regarding the issue of climate change, the prime minister noted that Pakistan produces less than 1% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.

He stated that although Pakistan is making great efforts to reduce carbon emissions and make the switch to renewable energy, we and other developing countries cannot bear the burden alone. He asserted that achieving climate justice needed a group effort, much larger efforts, and industrialised nations.

“Pakistan’s Prime Minister Addresses Terrorism, Afghan Commitments, and Relations with India in US Talks”

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar spoke about the threat posed by terrorism, saying that the return of this threat by perilous organisations like TTP is a cause for serious concern for Pakistan and the entire world community.

He expressed his appreciation for the US’s active involvement with the Afghan government and stated that Pakistan would keep up the pressure on Afghanistan to uphold its promises to women’s rights, girls’ education, and the prevention of terrorist strikes against other nations using Afghan soil.

The Prime Minister added that while Pakistan still wants to have peaceful relations with India, we need the Indian government to be sincere in return. He claimed that actions made by India in 2019 in the illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir had led to a hazardous and troubling turn for our area. Kakar stated that the declining human rights situation in IIOJK, particularly efforts by the BJP government to alter the demographic make-up of the occupied region, greatly concerns the government and people of Pakistan.

He emphasized that the entire international community, including the United States, should have profound concerns about the growing wave of Hindutva, driven by anti-Muslim fanaticism in India and other minority communities.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar encouraged the US Administration to persuade the Indian Government that amicably resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir is necessary to free the people of South Asia from ongoing instability.
