Pakistan thrash China finish fifth: With an early 4-0 lead in the first quarter, the Green Shirts got the game off to a great start. The green-shirts finally pulled them back and scored two more goals to hand China a severe defeat by a margin of five goals, despite the fact that they demonstrated some courage and managed to score their lone goal in the third quarter.

Hanan Shahid and Abdul Rana each scored one goal for Pakistan, while Mohammad Ammad and Mohammad Sufyan each scored two goals.

Benhai Chen of China scored the game’s sole goal in the 35th minute off a penalty corner.

Since the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy’s establishment in 2011, the Green Shirts had never failed to get to the semifinals.

On Thursday, the national squad suffered a devastating 0-4 loss to bitter rival India, resulting in their elimination from the Asian Champions Trophy.

China, who had just one point and finished last in the standings, was the opponent in Pakistan’s lone victory in the Asian Champions Trophy.

Prior to that match, Pakistan was winless in the Asian Champions Trophy after drawing with Japan (3-3) and the reigning champions South Korea (1-1), and losing to Malaysia 3-1 in their opening match.

Pakistan finished with the same number of points as Japan and South Korea, but the other two teams advanced to the next round while Pakistan did not due to goal differential.

India will play Japan in the second semi-final on the same day as South Korea plays Malaysia in the first semifinal.

Previously, Pakistan won the competition in 2012 and 2013, while they split the trophy with India in 2018 when the final was abandoned due to heavy rain. India, meanwhile, won the competition in 2011 and 2016.
