Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, a former chief minister and the president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), would be held under 3 MPO for 30 days, according to orders issued by the Punjab government on Sunday.
Parvez Elahi detained: Elahi had previously been detained at Lahore Camp Jail, according to the Lahore deputy commissioner’s order.
According to the notification, this decision was made in response to the Lahore district intelligence committee’s suggestion.
Elahi is the PTI’s most prominent member and a flashy orator, the committee claimed in the materials that The News received.
He has the capacity to incite others to establish law and order.
Elahi is capable of causing mayhem and disturbance, and there is a legitimate concern that his supporters may endanger lives and property, according to reports from the Model Town SP and district intelligence committee.
They suggested keeping Elahi in jail for a month.
At Qila Gujjar Singh Police Station, he is the subject of two FIRs (numbers 22/604 and 22/1822), while at Ghalib Market Police Station, a FIR (number 23/1150) has been filed against him.
It has been established through investigations into these FIRs that Elahi and his allies are involved in arson, terrorism, and providing opposition to law enforcement.
Elahi might appeal the decision to the Punjab government, according to the deputy commissioner’s order.
Despite being released on bond on July 11, Elahi is still behind bars.
The PTI president was ordered to be released on bail in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) money laundering case against him by a local court in Lahore.
It should be emphasised that Elahi was initially detained on June 1 in connection with a graft investigation as part of a campaign against PTI following the May 9 rallies. Further, After this, he was detained again numerous times in various circumstances, including the two money laundering incidents.
