The caretaker administration cut the price of petrol by Rs. 8 for the upcoming two weeks on Saturday, providing some respite to the nation’s people who have grown weary of the effects of inflation.
Petrol price in Pakistan drops: The price of diesel has been announced to be reduced by Rs11, making the new price of the fuel Rs318.18 per litre.
From today midnight, new pricing for the commodities are in effect.
In a statement, the Ministry of Finance announced that it had decided to lower the price of petroleum products due to the strengthening of the Pakistani rupee and the declining POL rates around the world.
The government of Pakistan has decided to revise the consumer pricing of petroleum products, the ministry stated, “in light of variations in international prices of petroleum products and the improvement in the exchange rate.”
Additionally, the price of light diesel oil has decreased by Rs7.77 per litre to 212.45 and that of kerosene by Rs7.53 per litre to 237.28.
The last time the prices of goods reduced was in the middle of July, when the price of petrol and diesel each fell by Rs. 9 per litre to Rs. 253 and Rs. 7, respectively.
