PML-N and PPP bigwigs ‘agree’ on charter of economy

Must Read

A “charter of economy” has apparently been agreed upon by the coalition partners in the centre, the cash-strapped Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), to help the nation out of its current dilemma.

PML-N and PPP agree on charter of economy: Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto, and Nawaz Sharif, the PML-N’s senior leader, have all met in Dubai to discuss the election and other political and economic matters. On Monday, the leaders of the PML-N and PPP gathered in Dubai to discuss “their share” of the country’s future structure and the scheduling of the country’s next general elections.

Sources indicate that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari have achieved a consensus on the majority of the economic aspects of a charter that will serve as the basis for forming a similar coalition after the general elections in 2023.

Sources state, “We will make the coalition partners in the current setup, including JUI-F, MQM-P, and parties included in the PDM alliance, part of the charter of economy.”

Furthermore, they assert that they did not make any progress in their negotiations regarding the general election alliance for 2023. They further state that they will decide on the caretaker setup by consulting other affiliated parties.

It is important to note that since the dissolution of the legislatures in August, the two sides have disagreed on the date of the subsequent general election.

For additional conversations with Nawaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders, Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari have been staying in Dubai. More PML-N and PPP leaders are reportedly on their way to Dubai to take part in the discussion.

It is important to note that Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, and Asif Ali Zardari, the previous president, have consistently emphasised the necessity of a “Charter of Economy” and worked to develop long-term strategies to strengthen the nation’s economy.
