Rana Sanaullah, the head of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in Punjab, declared on Friday that his party would run candidates in every provincial assembly seat, ruling out any possibility of an electoral coalition in the 2018 general elections.
PML-N field candidates all Punjab constituencies: During a press conference in Lahore, the interior minister announced the initiation of electoral efforts by the PML-N. They further announced the scheduling of an organizational meeting in this regard.
The PML-N leader stated that they would discuss their resolve to advance the election activity in Punjab with full force during the meeting. Furthermore, the party expressed their intention to field candidates in all national and provincial elections.
Rana Sanaullah drew attention to the fact that his party did not run candidates in some constituencies during the previous elections. The party, he continued, “had, this time, determined to make sure that its party symbol would be present in every constituency.
In such areas where the party would need assistance, the federal minister also mentioned that seat modifications with other political parties would be possible. “In this regard, PML-N’s criteria would be that we would not compromise on our winning and dedicated candidates,” he continued.
He also mentioned the PML-N’s “achievements” from previous administrations, highlighting in particular the 1999 nuclear test that rendered Pakistan a nuclear power.
“A conspiracy was hatched at a time [2013-2018] when all newspapers were saying that Pakistan was becoming an economic power,” he asserted.
He also attacked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s former administration, claiming that it “divided the country’s politics, injected poison in it, and misled the youth.”
He added that the coalition government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, had once again saved the country from default.

According to PM Shehbaz Sharif, he took office in April 2022 and will transfer authority to a caretaker regime in August 2023.
