In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, polling is now taking place for 65 different village and neighbourhood councils under strict security.
Polling under way in KP LG seats: The voting commenced at 8 am and will continue until its completion at 5 pm. In addition to Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, Laki Marwat, DI Khan, Tank, Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar, Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Upper and Lower Dir, and Bajaur, by-elections are also taking place in these 21 districts.
They have set up a total of 256 polling places for this purpose. Out of these, they have designated 84 polling places as sensitive, and 159 polling places as most sensitive.
On neighbourhood council Bicket Ganj-1, candidates Shabir Ahmed Raza of the ANP, Muhammad Zeeshan of the PTI, and Ahmed Ali of the independent party are likely to engage in a heated debate. Additionally, Abbas Khan of the PML-N, Mukhtiar Ali of the JUI-F, and Rahim Shah of the PTI are running for the general seat on the Takhatbhai village council in Ahmedabad.
