Federal minister for commerce and investments Syed Naveed Qamar stated that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has recommended the administration to dissolve the assembly on August 8.

PPP advised dissolve assemblies on August 8: During a casual conversation with the journalists in the Parliament House, he said these things.

“Our party has suggested to the government to dissolve assemblies on August 8 as we don’t want expansion of the current setup,” Qamar said, adding that the administration would make the ultimate choice.

He claimed that the PPP had asked the government to take the initiative in this matter since it desired electoral reforms before elections.

The law minister, Azam Nazeer Tarar, earlier stated that they would not prolong the assemblies beyond their terms according to the constitution.

The minister stated that the government will not significantly amend election-related laws.

However, he continued, “We need to fix a few small flaws in the Election Act.”
