Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, leaders of the PPP, and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif met in Dubai to discuss the general elections.

PPP and PMLN in Dubai meeting: Sources claim that while the PPP wants speedy elections, the majority of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders want the elections delayed.

In a summit in Dubai, two sides—allies in the current PDM government—will attempt to persuade one another.

According to Nawaz Sharif, PML-N Elections, the nation’s top leader, stated that they should hold elections at a time when the path ahead is clear.

Sources indicate that certain PML-N officials are supporting the People’s Party’s position that general elections should be held on schedule.

If the two coalition members could agree on the elections, they would talk about a partnership, according to sources.

Additionally, according to sources, the PPP has asked the PML-N for seats in Punjab and other provinces. Additionally, it has requested that the Muslim League-Nawaz refrain from fielding candidates in some Punjabi constituencies, such as those held by the Gillani family, Pervaiz Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Nadeem Afzal Chan.

As the People’s Party insists on a joint name for the caretaker PM, the PPP and PML-N will consult over names for the position.

Sources state that the meeting will also cover the proposed early dissolution of the National Assembly. For the ultimate date of the general elections, the parties will also consult.

After broadening the consultation process, they will include Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

More PML-N and PPP heavyweights, including Khurshid Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, and Yousaf Raza Gillani of the PPP, as well as Hamza Shehbaz, Ahsan Iqbal, Saad Rafique, Ayaz Sadiq, and Ameer Muqam of the N-League, are reportedly planning to travel to Dubai.
