The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has resolved to support holding the general elections in 90 days.
PPP decides advocate elections in 90 days: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presided over the PPP CEC meeting, which aimed to make important decisions regarding the general elections and consultations with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
According to reports, the political party decided to push for the holding of national elections in November. The 2023 census statistics were deemed “suspicious” by the CEC.
Former Sindh chief minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah briefed the CEC members at the meeting.
PPP leaders argue that the census data from 2023 has undercounted the population of Sindh, leading to substantial losses, including the allocation of funds.
According to sources, PPP will decide on its strategy after the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision.

Sherry Rehman stated during a news conference that the PPP CEC discussed a variety of subjects, including as general elections, delimitations, inflation, and inflated utility bills.
Should elections not occur in accordance with the Constitution within 90 days, the country will confront another catastrophe, as stated. PPP has embraced the idea of holding elections within 90 days.

She claimed that the caretaker administration is powerless to enact new laws or change any existing ones.
According to Sherry Rehman, the nation must not be coerced into another constitutional crisis. “There is no justification for postponing the election while the number of seats remains the same.”
Speaking at the press briefing, the former chief minister of Sindh, Murad Ali Shah, called the digital census “controversial.” After receiving information that the number of seats would not change, we agreed to notify the census data.
It is important to note that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started talking to the major political parties about finalising the electoral roadmap before the 2019 elections.
The PPP urged that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) declare the date of the general election earlier in the month. The PPP wants nationwide free and fair elections on a single day, according to PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi.
He emphasized the need for an immediate release of the election schedule and urged the ECP not to delay the announcement of the poll date.
