The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) decided to implement the strategy for on-time elections proposed by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Tuesday.

PPP ‘adopt’ Bilawal policy over election date: The PPP Central Executive Committee (CEC) met to discuss holding elections on schedule, and the participants agreed to follow Bilawal Bhutto’s agenda, according to PPP sources.

“Participants discussed Asif Zardari and his son Bilawal’s policies during the CEC meeting, according to reports.”

“Senior committee members recommended the adoption of Asif Zardari’s conciliation strategy, believing that Asif Ali Zardari possessed the capability to rescue the economy through his approach.”

“The majority of CEC members opposed Asif Ali Zardari’s stance and emphasis on adopting Bilawal Bhutto’s strategy.”

The meeting came to an end with a note that stated PPP would not negotiate quick elections. Some forum participants suggested that PPP adopt a resolute stance in favour of holding elections on schedule.

“People familiar with the situation suggest that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Shehbaz Sharif may have faced exposure during their one-and-a-half-year administration.”

Additionally, the general people are holding the PML-N accountable for its performance during the coalition government term, so the PPP can considerably benefit from timely elections.
