On Thursday in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the trophy for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8).
In front of franchise owners and top players, the PCB Management Committee Chairman, Najam Sethi, unveiled the trophy at the storied Shalimar Gardens.
According to a press release from the PCB, the brand-new Pakistan Super League eight trophy “conveyed the national team’s ethos, artistry, recognition and status.”
Furthermore, the 24-karat Supernova Trophy serves as a testament to the skill and expertise of Pakistan’s artisans, as well as the Pakistan Cricket Board’s unwavering commitment to supporting regional companies.
However, The national cricket team’s motto of “Unity, Passion, and Strength” is symbolized by 9,907 sparkling zircon stones decorating the three pillars of the trophy. The main pillar at the back, adorned with crystals, represents the effort and commitment necessary for the team’s success.
The PSL 8 opening ceremony will take place in Multan on February 13 before the tournament’s first match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans; the closing ceremony and final will take place on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

Splitting the PSL 8 into two legs, matches will take place at Multan Cricket Stadium and Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena from February 13 to February 26. From February 26 to March 19, the action will move to Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium. On March 15–19, the Qualifier, two Eliminators, and the Final will all take place in Lahore.
Additionally, Lahore Qalandars will try to become the first team to win consecutive championships, while Islamabad United will try to make history by winning the trophy three times.
Furthermore, No other team, outside Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans, has advanced to the championship game as the defending champions.
However, Rawalpindi will host Eleven games, Karachi and Lahore will each host nine games, and Multan will host five games.
