The Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has filed a petition with the Supreme Court to challenge Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

PTI chairman approaches Supreme Court: Latif Khosa has submitted a petition to the Supreme Court under Article 186-A on behalf of the PTI Chairman.

The petitioner asked to transfer his cases from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to the high courts in Lahore or Peshawar.

In addition, the petitioner asked that Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the IHC not hear the cases brought against him.

Yesterday, the PTI Core Committee made the announcement that it would request a reference against Justice Aamer Farooq from the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).

It had requested that the chief justice of the IHC immediately recuse himself from the matter. The party also requested Pakistan’s Chief Justice (CJP), Umar Ata Bandial, to pay attention to the situation.
