Imran allowed to speak his sons on phone: Imran Khan, the former prime minister, has been detained by the court till September 13 in connection with the cypher case and has been housed in the Attock prison since his arrest on August 5.

The PTI leader requested permission from a special court through his solicitors Umair Niazi and Shiraz Ahmed to call his sons Qasim and Sulaiman over the phone.

He made a request to the judge. The judge granted his request, allowing him to talk to his sons Qasim and Sulaiman Khan on phone or WhatsApp.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman’s judicial remand in the cypher case was extended by a special court on Wednesday till September 13.The ruling in the matter of the lost cypher, a top-secret government document, was made by Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain, who heard the case in the Attock District Jail under the Official Secrets Act 2023.

After receiving approval from the Law Ministry and addressing security concerns from the Interior Ministry. The case was heard at the Attock Jail.

Imran Khan, a former prime minister, has been detained in Attock Prison since his Toshakhana case conviction on August 5.

Case cypher

The Official Secrets Act’s first information report (FIR) was filed on August 15. In response to the Home Secretary’s complaint, it was recorded.

The report also listed the names of former principal secretary Azam Khan and former planning minister Asad Umar. Alongside them, former prime minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi were also mentioned.

Authorities are reportedly planning to take action against Azam Khan and Asad Umar. This comes after they determined that both individuals were also involved in the improper utilization of secret documents.

According to the FIR, the former foreign minister and prime minister fabricated information on the diplomatic cypher. It continued, “A conspiracy was started to use the cipher’s information for evil ends. It went on to say that the state’s interests were harmed by the former premier and senior diplomat.

However, According to the report, Azam Khan, the previous prime minister’s principal secretary, was directed to “manipulate the contents of cypher” by the former prime minister. “The former premier kept the copy of the diplomatic cypher that was sent to the PM office on purpose,” the statement continued.
