The chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) guilty of “corrupt practices” in the Toshakhana case and sentencing him to three years in prison, the authorities took him into custody at his Zaman Park mansion in Lahore.

Imran khan arrested: PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi confirmed the arrest of the PTI chairman in the Toshakhana case.

Imran Khan has been sent to Kot Lakhpat Jail, the Punjab Chapter of PTI tweeted in confirmation of the reports.

The result

Today, the District and Sessions Court gave the PTI chairman a three-year prison sentence in the Toshakhana criminal case.

The court, in its ruling, stated that it had found the accused guilty of engaging in corrupt behavior and sentenced the PTI chairman to three years in prison.

Additionally, Imran Khan “is found guilty of corrupt practises” and “deliberately submitted fake details [of Toshakhana gifts] to the ECP,” he claimed.

However, The court found the PTI head guilty and imposed a Rs 100,000 fine. The court also declared the former prime minister ineligible to hold public office for a period of five years.

A sizable police presence was present outside the courthouse prior to today’s hearings.
