Humayun Akhtar Khan, a former federal minister, has announced his resignation from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to the May 9 protests.

Humayun Akhtar quits party: Details indicate that Humayun Akhtar stated that under the current circumstances, he would have to leave Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

The sacrifices made by the military forces, he remarked, must be forgotten by the country. The events of May 9 have affected his family and the entire country because they have always revered Pakistan’s armed forces.

Today’s political events are similar in that Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the former aviation minister, declared on Thursday that he was leaving the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) due to the May 9 protests.

In a video statement, Ghulam Sarwar denounced the violence on May 9 and demanded that those responsible for the attacks on the GHQ, Jinnah House, and military memorials face punishment.

Sarwar stated, “I condemn individuals engaged in confrontation with state institutions,” and he noted that he had also opposed the party’s stance of confrontation at every forum.

Several PTI leaders and lawmakers, including Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Shireen Mazari, Imran Ismail, Ali Zaidi, Aamir Mehmood Kiani, Malik Amin Aslam, Mahmood Moulvi, Aftab Siddiqui, and Fayyazul Hassan Chohan, among others, have left the former ruling party in the wake of the vandalism on May 9.

Events on May 9

Violent confrontations broke out all over Pakistan after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) took former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan into custody on Tuesday.

Party workers organized rallies in remote and populous locations as a result of their agitation over the detention of their chairman. Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad summoned the armed forces to ensure peace and order.

During a PTI worker protest, the Corps Commander’s home and army installations in Lahore came under attack.

Furthermore, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Ali Nasir Rizvi sustained serious injuries while clearing the area, as stated.
