PTI’s Asad Qaiser ‘arrested’ from Islamabad residence

Must Read

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser was taken into custody by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab on Friday. Qaiser is an Islamabad resident.

Asad Qaiser ‘arrested’: The Anti-Corruption Establishment detained the former speaker of the National Assembly (NA) for his involvement in the corruption case related to Gaju Khan Medical College in Swabi.

They were moving Asad Qaiser to the Bani Gala police station.

The arrest has further damaged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), which was already facing legal disputes due to the imprisonment of its top leadership.

Imran Khan and vice-chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, PTI leaders, are also facing trial in the cypher case in addition to their detention at Adiala jail.

Asad Qaiser led a PTI group that recently spoke with Maulana Fazlur Rehman, President of the JUI-F, about the “political situation” in the nation as a whole.

Leading PTI figures Asad Qaiser, Ali Mohammad Khan, Junaid Akbar, and Barrister Saif were among the delegation’s sympathisers at the passing of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s mother-in-law.

The leaders of the two parties have been at odds with one another for a long time, with Imran Khan of the PTI going after the president of the JUI-F and vice versa. Further, Fazl’s party contributed to the coalition government and assisted in Imran Khan’s downfall.
