Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, declared on Wednesday that he had accepted Xi Jinping’s invitation to visit China in October.

Putin visit China in October: Both China and Russia refer to one another as strategic friends and constantly promote their “no limits” alliance as well as their economic and military cooperation.

After the beginning of Russia’s offensive in Ukraine in February of last year—which China has refused to condemn—they grew even closer.

Putin told Beijing’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi in televised remarks as they met in Saint Petersburg, “I was glad to accept the invitation of the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China to visit China in October.”

During his state visit to Moscow in March, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin aimed to present a unified front against the West.

The top Chinese ambassador was in Russia for four days as part of the most recent high-level exchanges between Moscow and Beijing. After the commencement of its Ukraine offensive, which has further isolated Moscow, the Kremlin has moved to strengthen ties with China. While providing Moscow with a crucial diplomatic and financial lifeline, China has attempted to present itself as a neutral party in the Ukraine war.
