Russian President Vladimir Putin recently paid a visit to the military command centre in Rostov-on-Don, which is in charge of managing the offensive against Ukraine, the Kremlin announced on Friday.
Putin visits military HQ: According to a statement from the Kremlin, Putin “has visited the Russian armed forces headquarters in Rostov-on-Don on his way back from Perm,” a city in the Urals where he spent Thursday.
Putin met with Army Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov to receive a report on the status of Russia’s February 2022 offensive against Ukraine.
After Ukraine declared on Tuesday that it had used long-range ATACMS missiles supplied by the US for the first time in the conflict, they called the conference.
The next day, Putin said that the 165-kilometer (103-mile) range of the missiles would have little impact on the conflict and would merely prolong Ukraine’s “agony.”
