On May 26, Baran in Rajasthan, India, became the stage for an extraordinary spectacle as 2,143 couples tied the knot within fewer than six hours, creating two new global records, as certified by the Guinness World Records.
Organized by the registered trust, Shri Mahaveer Goshala Kalyan Sansthan, this colossal wedding ceremony brought together Muslim and Hindu couples in a wonderful blend of cultural traditions. In doing so, the event surpassed the previous records for the most weddings conducted in both a day (12 hours) and an entire day (24 hours), formerly held by 963 Yemeni couples who wedded back in 2013.
The couples exchanged their vows in the presence of notable government representatives, including Cabinet Minister Pramod Jain Bhaya and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
