In the interbank foreign exchange market on Tuesday, the rupee lost 90 paisas against the dollar.
Rupee slides in interbank market: At the close of the interbank market, the foreign currency was trading at Rs287.54 as opposed to Rs286.64 the day before.
The dollar dropped to Rs290.5 in the open market, down 50 paisas.
The benchmark KSE-100 Index posted a gain of 195.91 points, or 0.41%, to close at 48230.5 on Tuesday, helping the Pakistan Stock Exchange conclude in the green.
According to a Topline Securities analyst, the KSE-100 Index started the day strong, reaching an intraday high of 48,442 levels, up 0.85% as a result of the Monetary Policy Committee’s announcement of a status quo.
To close at 17259.89 points, the KSE-100 Index rose 63.34 points, or 0.37%.
