Russia launches missile attack on Kyiv

Russia launched a missile attack on Kyiv, but the nation’s air defence systems shot down every missile before it reached its targets, the city’s military administration reported on the messaging app Telegram.

Russia attack on Kyiv: At approximately 0550 a.m., authorities issued air raid alarms for the entirety of Ukraine. (0250 GMT), Reuters’ witnesses heard numerous explosions resembling the deployment of air defense systems before authorities canceled them about an hour later.

Serhiy Popko, the leader of Kyiv’s military administration, posted on the Telegram messaging service, “Another missile attack by the enemy on a peaceful city with the aim of killing the civilian population and destroying the infrastructure.”

He continued by saying that preliminary reports indicated there had been no injuries or destruction in Kiev.

Popko did not immediately know the scope of the attack, which involved a variety of missile types.

Russia did not provide a quick response.
