The Supreme Court (SC) prohibited the detention of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister in the slaying case involving top Supreme Court attorney Advocate Abdul Razzaq Shar.
SC bars PTI chairman’s arrest: A three-judge panel, including Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar and Justice Musarrat Hilali, presided over the former prime minister’s appeal, with Justice Yahya Khan Afridi leading the proceedings.
Today, the complainant’s attorney was absent, which resulted in the inability to hold the arguments. The SC denied the PTI chief’s attorney’s request for a ruling against the JIT established in the lawyer’s murder case.
Justice Yahya Khan Afridi, who was in charge of the bench, said, “We won’t make any order right now. The hearing was then postponed until August 9.
A court order stated that the PTI leader involved in the SC lawyer murder case should not be arreste until the next hearing of the case on August 9.
Separately, the Supreme Court received the investigation report in the murder case involving attorney Abdul Razzaq Shar from the Inspector General of Balochistan Police.
According to the report, someone was intimidating the victim because they had submitted an Article 6 petition to the Supreme Court.
In his remarks during the case’s most recent hearing, Latif Khosa claimed that the government’s JIT was in violation of the law. In addition, the accused should first present himself to the court, said Justice Yahya Afridi.
Khosa stated that the complaint from Shar’s stepson was the reason for filing the case against the PTI chairman.
The police arrested the PTI chairman on the basis of a complaint by the deceased’s son, in connection with the death of Advocate Abdul Razzaq Shar, and charged him with murder, terrorism, and other offenses at the Shaheed Jameel Kakar police station.
