SC of Pakistan Decides to Live Broadcast of Proceedings

Today, the Supreme Court met to discuss the Supreme Court (Practise and Procedure) Act under the leadership of Qazi Faez Isa, the new Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). The complete bench decided to broadcast the proceedings live in 2023, which is a ground-breaking decision. Prior to the formal proceedings, a comprehensive meeting revealed the resolution.

SC of Pakistan Decides Live Broadcast: “Pakistan Television has positioned cameras for this live broadcast. They have installed five cameras in courtroom 1, the main courtroom, to record from diverse perspectives. Additionally, they have placed four more cameras in the spectator area, and they have positioned a special camera at the attorneys’ podium in front of the judge’s docks.”

The comprehensive court was founded by Qazi Faez Isa, Pakistan’s recently sworn-in Chief Justice. Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, Justice Ijazul Ahsan, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, and Justice Munib Akhtar are just a few of the respected justices on the court. Justice Yahya Afridi, Justice Aminuddin Khan, and Justice Sayyed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi are other prominent judges on this bench.

Making the case for Open Doors to Justice

“During today’s earlier meeting with other Supreme Court justices to discuss the prospective live broadcast of the day’s hearings and discussions on methods for effectively adjudicating cases, they distributed instructions for the live webcast.”

a fresh CJP Isa skipped the customary protocol and drove himself to the Supreme Court. He emphasised the Supreme Court’s function as a resource for citizens to solve their problems while interacting with the court’s officials. Further, He urged the workers to adopt a welcoming attitude and treat visitors as guests. Additionally, he emphasised the need to maintain open access to justice for everyone, underlining the need of keeping those doors open.
