Shaheen Afridi presents a gift for Jasprit Bumrah’s newborn

Pakistan speedster Shaheen Shah Afridi’s thoughtful gesture for Jasprit Bumrah during the rain-delayed PAK vs. IND match in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 went viral.

Shaheen presents gift for Bumrah’s newborn: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) posted the positive conversation between the two competitive pacers on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The left-arm Pakistani pacer can be seen giving Bumrah a gift for his new child in the video.

In addition, Shaheen Shah Afridi sent the infant his best wishes, and Bumrah thanked him for his thoughtful deed.

“The organizers have rescheduled the highly anticipated PAK vs. IND match of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 to the reserve day on Monday due to the ongoing rain and the soggy outfield.”

India had accelerated to 147/2 in 24.1 overs with KL Rahul (17) and Virat Kohli (8) at the crease when the rain stopped play.

Rahul and Kohli will continue India’s first innings tomorrow since there will be no further play on Sunday.

“In the high-octane PAK vs. IND match, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, given the opportunity to bat first, initiated India’s innings with a flying start, crafting a remarkable 121-run partnership.”

They outperformed Pakistan’s pace three of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah with their bowling attack.

“Resilient Gill and Sharma Shine Amidst Rain-Interrupted Clash in PAK vs. IND Encounter”

Gill and Sharma both produced impressive comebacks after struggling against the trio in the last PAK vs. IND match on September 2.

Before Shadab Khan finally struck in his third over, eliminating Sharma shortly after he reached his half-century, the combination frustrated Pakistani bowlers.

In his quick 49-ball 56, Rohit Sharma hammered six boundaries and four sixes.

On the other hand, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s slower ball outclassed Gill, who promptly followed his captain’s example by returning to the pavilion in the following over.

He made a 58 off 52 balls, including 10 boundaries.

After receiving consecutive blows, top hitter Virat Kohli and returning KL Rahul batted conservatively while sharing an unbroken 24-run third-wicket stand until rain called off the PAK vs. IND match.

The umpires conducted repeated field inspections and decided not to resume play due to a saturated outfield after the heavy clouds dispersed and the rain eventually decided to let up.

When Sri Lankan groundsmen thought they had the matter under control, rain returned and ultimately forced the match to be decided on the reserve day. They made valiant attempts to dry out the damp sections using sponges and fans.
