The government of Sindh decided to come down on people and organizations who didn’t pay their taxes on time.
Sindh govt launch crackdown against tax defaulters: Sindh Local Government Additional Chief Secretary Najam Ahmed Shah directed and conducted a meeting to address the issue of unpaid property taxes. The conference participants initiated a crackdown against the entities that failed to file their taxes by June 30.
To ensure compliance, authorities will implement strict actions, including the confiscation and auction of properties, in accordance with the terms of the Sindh Urban Property Tax Act 1958. This action tries to prevent future tax evasion by enforcing tax payments and acting as a deterrence.
Additionally, speaking to the media, Najam Ahmed Shah emphasized the government’s resolve to simplify the procedure for collecting Sindh urban property taxes. He emphasized the need to overcome any challenges or complexity that could impede the efficient collection of taxes.
