“In a noteworthy development for Pakistan’s transport sector, a joint venture involving Chinese and Pakistani companies is preparing to commence the production of electric two- and three-wheelers, commonly referred to as rickshaws in the country.”

Sino-Pak start production of electric rickshaws: The partnership is anticipated to improve the local economy by lowering carbon emissions and increasing environmentally friendly transportation options.

In order to combine their experience and bring cutting-edge electric mobility solutions to the Pakistani market, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Benling Group, Chinese battery producer Dongjin Group, and Pakistani automaker Crown Group created the joint venture in April.

Two- and three-wheeled vehicles play a crucial role in Pakistan’s public transportation and contribute significantly to the country’s mobility environment.

“We anticipate that the construction of these cars will meet the rising demand for efficient and environmentally friendly transportation solutions in densely populated urban areas. These areas have seen significant concerns about air pollution and traffic congestion, and the aim is to electrify this segment.”

“Upcoming Launch of Electric Two-Wheelers and Three-Wheelers: Insights from Joint Venture and Battery Innovations”

In a recent interview with China Economic Net, Hu Ge, General Manager of Dongjin Pakistan, mentioned that they anticipate the arrival of the initial batch of materials, batteries, and equipment for producing electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers in Pakistan after customs clearance next week. We are anticipating the late this month or early September launch of the first batch of electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers produced by our joint venture.

“The joint venture partners have a strong commitment to ensuring that the electric vehicles manufactured in Pakistan meet demanding international quality standards.” This is why the production plant is located in an industrial area near Karachi.

However, Electric two- and three-wheelers’ range, performance, environmental impact, and general usability are all impacted by their batteries. Further, The outdated technology of local batteries is one of the main obstacles preventing Pakistan from developing electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers.

In order to deal with Pakistan’s actual road conditions and achieve a two-year service life, the joint venture specifically created a battery for Pakistan that is higher than the standard of Chinese electric two- and three-wheelers.
