Cricket South Africa announced on Monday the names of 18 players for the team’s final five one-day international matches before the Cricket World Cup in India, which will take place against Australia next month.

South Africa squad for Australia ODIs: However, not every participant in the competition in October and November will travel to India.

Two days before the opening one-day international, on September 5, a 15-man World Cup roster will be announced.

Before the one-day series, certain members of the squad will want to make an impression in three Twenty20 internationals.

Dewald Brevis, 20, who will represent his country for the first time during the T20 series, is one of them.

He will be a member of the one-day team and is a powerful hitter and leg-spinner.

Brevis has played in just four first-class games. However, T20 franchises in India, South Africa, the West Indies, and the United States have already recruited him. In a domestic T20 match for the Titans against the Knights last October, he scored 162 runs off 57 balls.

The T20 team saw the inclusion of new batsmen, 24-year-old Matthew Breetzke and 25-year-old Donovan Ferreira. However, they were not chosen for the one-day matches.

Quinton de Kock, David Miller, Heinrich Klaasen, Anrich Nortje, and Kagiso Rabada, who are all-star players, will rest for the T20 matches but participate in the one-day matches.

Keshav Maharaj, a left-arm spinner, will return to cricket during the T20 series after rupturing his left Achilles tendon during a Test match against the West Indies in March.
