Court rejects Rashid’s bail request: Sheikh Rashid, the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and a former interior minister, had his post-arrest bail request denied by an ISLAMABAD district and sessions court on Thursday.

Further Sessions Asif Ali Zardari, a former president and co-chair of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was accused of being involved in a murder plot. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard the motion in the case against the prominent politician.

Sardar Abdul Razzaq and Intizar Panjotha, the attorneys for Sheikh Rashid, Adnan, the prosecutor, and the plaintiff’s attorney all made appearances in court.

At the hearing, Attorney Razzaq stated that the FIR supported Rashid’s claim that PPP co-chair Zardari had plotted to kill Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan in order to incite conflict between the two parties.

The attorney for the AML leader stated that Imran’s charges ought to be investigated. According to the police file, Rashid had cited the PTI leader’s own remark regarding the assassination plot against Zardari. The attorney argued that these charges deserve attention.

Senior attorney Latif Khosa has sent a defamation notice. Advocate Razzaq asserts that “this can only be a case of slander.”

Why Imran Khan was not the subject of the investigating officer’s inquiry was brought up in court. On this, the plaintiff’s attorney asked that the PTI head be the subject of an investigation.

Additionally, the court stated that “a case of purported accusation would be launched against Imran and not a case of conspiracy.”

Additionally, The court admonished the former minister to use caution in his speech. The court stated that “everything you say on TV should be a matter of law in the court.”

Court was informed that there had never been any prior proceedings brought against the AML chief for “irresponsible talk.”

Furthermore, The court reserved judgment on Sheikh Rashid’s post-arrest bail request after hearing both sides’ arguments. Later, it made its tentative decision public and denied the AML chief’s application.

Sheikh Rashid was taken into custody by the Islamabad police last week. The arrest took place during a late-night raid on his private housing society home in the nation’s capital.

However, The Abpara Police Station received a request to open an investigation into the former minister after it was claimed that Zardari was planning to kill Imran Khan.
